Primo Danmark

“Capable of extracting high-purity fractions from our most complicated waste streams time after time, Trebo has become our dedicated partner in recycling”

Taj Bernth

CEO at Primo Danmark

Primo Danmark is a family-founded company specialising in extrusion of plastics, producing profiles for sectors such as building, energy and windows. Dedicated to sustainability, they’re determined to sort their post-production waste for closed-loop recycling and have been searching for sorting solutions able to handle the ever-growing complexity of their profiles.

Primo Danmark has partnered with us to solve some of their most complicated sorting tasks. One example is a waste stream of rejected parts derived from producing a co-moulded profile, consisting of grey ABS and blue TPE as well as yellow tape and black foam.

This is how our partnership works. Primo Danmark continuously collects the rejected profiles and shreds the material into flakes before delivering it to us, when they have a full truck to load. We sort the mixture using our patented system, extracting pure fractions of the grey ABS, which are then shipped back to Primo Danmark.

Due to the high purity levels of the sorted material, it can now be introduced to new cycles of producing the exact same profile without compromising any of their quality metrics. Soon our partnership will also include sorting the blue TPE for closed-loop recycling.

85% recycling boost

Now 85% of the post-production waste is recycled into the same process that generated it.

15% less virgin material

With a new stream of quality secondary raw material, the need for virgin plastics is 15% lower.

+100,000 kg CO2 saved

By recycling the production scrap in a closed loop at least 100,000 kg CO2 a year is saved.
