ABS/PP-talc

From a stream of end-of-life washing machines with 10+ mixed plastics, we extract the dominant ABS & PP-talc. Our sorting enables industry closed-loop recycling.

_

A waste stream notoriously known for being difficult to recycle.

Background

Across Europe, end-of-life washing machines are collected on a massive scale, yielding a highly complex mixed plastic fraction. Currently, our partner, a European recycler, processes this material stream by extracting only non-filled Polypropylene, building their business case on that single material.

They lacked a viable solution for the remaining stream mixed plastic types, predominantly ABS and PP-talc, which have traditionally been deemed useless and discarded as waste.

Outcome

Trebo has successfully stepped in as the missing sorting link. Utilizing our FMT technology, we sort ABS and PP-talc into such high purities that the materials are ready to directly replace virgin materials in new production loops.

Benefits

These are some of the key advantages of the material journey from end-of-life washing machines.

Industry closed-loop

Extracting top-of-the-market quality recyclates to close the loop in the electronics industry.

WEEE compliance

Achieve EoL targets and securing premium input material for recycled content quotas.

Streamlined technology

Replacing 6-8 processing steps with our single technology for a faster path to pure recyclates.

Quality guarantee

We test every big bag before it leaves our facility, guaranteeing uncompromised quality.
